Abstract

This post doctorate sandwich project is intended to allow a visit to the research group headed by Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Gani from the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark. Its duration is estimated in 5 months. It is focused on the extension of the applicability of existent predictive methods, as well as the development of new predictive methods for properties of fatty compounds, edible oils and correspondents, without the necessity of new laboratorial experiments. In fact, the determination of experimental data for properties of pure fatty compounds and their mixtures, in a variety of combinations of the components, involves, in general, specialized installations and people, besides being time consuming and expensive. On the other hand, a variety of these compounds are not easy to find in a grade good enough for a satisfactory determination of their properties. As a consequence, models and equations able to predict these properties become fundamental for process design and simulation. (AU)
