Educating teachers-researchers in a geographers school: the culture of the Unicamp geography Pibid

Abstract

The Pibid six years ago, has been the main initial training incentive public education policy of the federal government, in order to improve the training of basic education teachers. Currently, the program is present in the degree courses of public and private higher education institutions of the country, through disciplinary or interdisciplinary subprojects, build dialogically a spacetime that allows make the teaching practice as the principle of initiation to teaching. This master's thesis aims to understand how to build the identity of the teaching fellows undergraduate initiation to teaching the Geopibid Unicamp, from the actions directed to the formation of the teacher-researcher; and analyze Pibid as part of the educational policy of teacher education in the current Brazilian context. The choice of the subproject investigated whether the presence of their present actions in the planning of activities performed by the group, which prioritize the establishment of a teaching identity, based on the theoretical and methodological perspective of the teacher-researcher. By choosing the case of ethnographic study (André, 2008), the methodological procedures followed by participant observation, individual interviews and indirect autobiographical interviews with the initiation scholarship to the subproject teaching, official documents analysis of Capes. The demand of the research object boosted understanding of the program in its territorial and political dimension. From data provided by Capes, it was produced mapping of institutional projects Pibid present in higher education institutions, making it possible to understand this policy in its different scales, and understand program in initial and continuing training of teachers in the context of the spreading of degrees in the national territory across the educational public policies for higher education. The research concludes that the identity of the teacher-researcher is not fixed in the daily life of fellows and alumni of the subproject, however its construction process is a significant culture in the course of degree in Unicamp Geography disputed the meaning of hegemony in training of teachers in this geographer¿s school (AU)
