Karina Denari Gomes de Mattos

Karina is a fully qualified Brazilian lawyer, she holds a PhD in Law from the University of Rio de Janeiro and a masters degree in Law from the University of São Paulo. She was awarded scholarships for visiting research periods at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame (2018) and Centre on Law and Social Transformation - LawTransform at the University of Bergen/CMI (2023). She is Legal Director at Hotta Advocacia in collaboration with Pogust Goodhead. She is a Law Professor member of the Justice and Constitution Centre and the Access to Justice and Disaster Group at FGV São Paulo. She is Supervisor of Field Projects in FGV DIREITO RIO. Her previous work experience includes senior research and academic coordination positions at the FGV São Paulo Law School - the Human Rights and Business Centre, Temporary Lecturer position in the Law School at the University of Rio de Janeiro. She received a grant to coordinate judicial gender equality studies with Oxford/AJUFE Mulheres.
