Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), and teaches on the Environmental Management Course and on the Graduate Programs in Environmental Science and Social Change and Political Participation, all at USP. She holds a PhD and a Master's in History from the São Paulo State University (UNESP),(1996), Specialist in Cultural Heritage Management from the Federal University of Pernambuco and Post-Doctorate in Political Geography from the University of São Paulo and in History from the University of Seville. She was a visiting professor at the Federal University of Bahia and at the University of Seville and was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Social Change and Political Participation (2012/2014). She coordinated the Fapesp Project "Cultural Heritage of the Historic Valley of São Paulo: analysis of the vulnerability to climate change" (2011-2014), the CNPq Project "Risk management of assets with a patrimonial function to climate change: measures for the formulation of public policies" ( 2015-2017) and coordinates the Vulnerabilities Project of small cities in the São Paulo macro-metropolis to climatic variability. She develops research on themes related to public policies, small cities, urban and environmental management and conservation of protected spaces as cultural and natural heritage.
