Professor (Adjunct) at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) - Sorocaba campus, Brazil. Supervisor of master students in Production Engineering (PPGEPS) and supervisor of master and PhD students in Renewable Resources Management and Use (PPGPUR) at UFSCar. In 2016, he finished his PhD thesis in Production Engineering at University of São Paulo (USP) with internship program at Autonomous Barcelona University (UAB - Spain). In 2012, he finished his master thesis in Materials Science and Engineering at University of São Paulo (USP) with internship program at Coimbra University (UC ? Portugal). In 2010, he graduated in Wood Industrial Engineering at São Paulo State University (UNESP). Also, he worked at companies "Maringá S/A Cimento e Ferro-Liga" and "Duratex S.A.", with experience in Lean Manufacturing and Environmental Control. Nowadays, makes research in Life Cycle Management and Engineering (Life Cycle Assessment - LCA, Sustainable Manufacturing, Eco-innovation and Ecodesign), Lean & Green Production (Cleaner Production, Sustainable VSM, Sustainable Production Planning and Control, and Ecoefficiency) and Circular Bioeconomy (bioproducts and bioenergy). He is head of the CNPq's Research Group on Sustainable Engineering, member of the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO), and individual member of the UNEP's Life Cycle Initiative. Dr. Lopes Silva has 09 academic awards, has published 5 books, 8 book chapters, and more than 50 peer reviewed papers.
