Professor (Adjunct) at Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) - Sorocaba campus, Brazil. Supervisor of master and PhD students in Production Engineering (PPGEPS) and in Renewable Resources Management and Use (PPGPUR) at UFSCar. Nowadays, makes research in Life Cycle Engineering and Management (Life Cycle Assessment - LCA, Sustainable Manufacturing, Eco-innovation and Ecodesign), Lean Green Production (Cleaner Production, Sustainable Production Planning and Control) and Circular Bioeconomy (bioproducts and bioenergy). He is head of the CNPq's Research Group on Sustainability Engineering (EngS Group), member of the Brazilian Research Network in Life Cycle Impact Assessment (RAICV), member of the Brazilian Enterprise LCA Network (RedeACV), member of the EPD System's technical committee, member of the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) and individual member of the UNEP's Life Cycle Initiative. Dr. Lopes Silva has 18 academic awards, has published 6 books, 13 book chapters, and more than 100 peer reviewed papers. Internationalization: pos-doc at the Ohio State University (OSU), and visiting research with the University of Coimbra (Portugal), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), KU Leuven (Belgium), Ohio State University and Arizona State University (United States). Research Impact: H-index ISI Web of Science = 21; H-index SCOPUS = 23; 10-index Scholar Google = 55.
