Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG), specialist in Environmental Management with an emphasis on ISO 14001 (FUMEC), Master in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Doctor of Science from School of Engineering of São Carlos at University of São Paulo (EESC-USP). Post-doctorate from University of São Paulo and the Universidad de Cádiz (UCA), Department of Chemistry-Physics, Facultad de Ciencias del Mar y Ambientales (Spain) with research in the area of treatment and degradation of toxic xenobiotic compounds and identification of metabolites ( metabolomics). Expertise in sanitary and environmental engineering, with emphasis on wastewater treatment, environmental and applied microbiology, anaerobic digestion, biological energy production (methane and hydrogen), physical-chemical and chromatographic analysis, light and electronic microscopy, operation of biological reactors , removal of nutrients, recalcitrant compounds, molecular biology techniques applied to the monitoring of biological reactors, study of diversity and identification of microbial populations (metagenomics and microbial sequencing techniques - next generation sequencing). Adjunct Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, at the Center for Technology and Geosciences (CTG) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Researcher at the Environmental Sanitation Laboratory (LSA) and Molecular Biology and Environmental Technology Laboratory (LABIOTA).
