Graduate at Mechanical Engineering from University Federal of Uberlândia (1981), master's at Bioengenharia from Bioengenharia Interunidades EESC/FMRP/IQSC -USP (1989) and ph.d. at Mechanical Engineering from School of Engineering of São Carlos (1994). He is currently full professor at Department of Orthopedics and Anesthesiology at Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto at São Paulo University. Has experience in Biomedical Engineering, acting on the following subjects: Tecnology material testing biological or not, tests of traction, compression, bending, torsion and shear; Mechanical properties of gastrocnenic muscle, vertebral spine, ligament and bone; Ergonomy; Biomechanical of moviment; Design of the equipment, instrument and of the implants orthopaedic/odontologic.
