My research uses an integrative approach by combining molecular and morphological data to understand the taxonomy, biogeography, phylogenetics, and macroevolution of tropical fishes. Current projects include (i) phylogeny and biogeography of African tetras of the family Alestidae, (ii) phylogeny and evolution of Neotropical tetras of the family Characidae, and (iii) taxonomy, species delimitation, and biogeography of Neotropical curimatids.
