Full Professor of English Linguistic Studies in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of São Paulo. She earned a degree in Letters, a Masters and a Ph.D. in Semiotics and General Linguistics from the University of São Paulo. She completed her postdoctoral research at the Université de Liège under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jean-Marie Klinkenberg. Former professor at PUC-SP, has been a faculty member at the University of São Paulo since 2006.Her research focuses on English language and semiotics from the theoretical perspective of Discursive Semiotics, with an emphasis on the following topics: the discursive construction of identity, cultural stereotypes, self-representation, passions and social interactions, rhetorical aspects, and the role of sensory components in the signification process. Researcher in the 2024 Sabbatical Year Program at the Institute of Advanced Studies of USP (IEA), working on the project Semiotic Preconditions for Restorative Practices and Conflict Mediation.
