We propose the study and development of optomechanical microcavities in distinct materials and geometries. Several systems will be explored, such that the piezoeletricity and the photoelasticity can be used to improve the optomechanical coupling. We aim to achieve the induced strong coupling regime, where non-classical phenomena can be observed.
We propose the development of theoretical studies on optical and mechanical cavities. We will focus on the development of optomechanical cavities that allow to raise the coupling between mechanical vibration and optical modes. We will study how this coupling depends on geometry and material that compose these systems. (AU)

We propose the study, fabrication and characterization of integrated single-phonon waveguides. Generation and read-out of phonons will be performed using single photons in optomechanical microcavities coupled to the waveguides.
