He is bachelor in Pharmacy & Biochemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with M.Sci. and PhD. in Chemistry at the same university. He has two post-docs: University of New Mexico (USA) and University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany). He has experience in drug discovery applying cheminformatics, medicinal chemistry and cell-based assays in cancer and neglected diseases. New bioactive substances were described after his studies, like the first GPER30 inhibitor, repurposing of anti-HIV drugs (elvitegravir and raltegravir) and quinolone antibiotics (cyprofloxacin and norfloxacin) for cancer. The main core of the in silico and in vitro work is based on different medicinal chemistry & drug discovery approaches. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
