Graduated in Biomedical Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (1993), master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1996) and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of São Paulo (1999). Postdoctoral fellow at the Washington University School of Medicine-USA (1999). He is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences - University of São Paulo. Editor of journals: Journal of Fungi, Brazilian Journal of Microbiology and Frontiers in Microbiology. He has published 88 scientific papers with h-index = 25 and has a licensed patent. He participates in several collegiate bodies at FCF-USP. He coordinated two FAPESP thematic projects, supervised 17 master's dissertations, 15 doctoral theses and supervised 8 post-docs. He was deputy coordinator (2012-2016) and coordinator (2016-2020) of the Graduate course in Pharmacy: Pathophysiology and Toxicology at FCF-USP, grade 7 CAPES, he was deputy head of the Department of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis at FCF-USP (2019-2021).
