Veterinarian graduated from FCAVJ - UNESP (1999), holds a Master's Degree (2000-2002) and a PhD (2005-2008) in Animal Reproduction from FCAVJ-UNESP, and a Post-Doctorate (2011) from Michigan State University (USA). Since 2011, he has been a professor in the area of Avian Reproduction in the Department of Animal Reproduction at FMVZ - USP, where he became Associate Professor in the same area in 2020 (Associate Professor level 2). Responsible for the Avian Propagation Study Group (GEMA), he develops research projects and partnerships in reproduction within industrial poultry farming, as well as cooperation and experiments with birds and other wild vertebrates. He has experience in reproductive endocrinology, artificial egg incubation, reproductive management of broiler and layer parents and grandparents, manipulation of environmental and hormonal factors, collection and preservation of avian germplasm (e.g. fibroblasts, semen, primordial germ cells and stem spermatogonia), seminal analysis and artificial insemination in various species of birds. He carries out research and extension projects in various companies in the poultry sector, and has international partnerships with researchers from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), Havard University (USA), North Carolina State University (USA), San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance (USA) and Aviagen Group (UK).He has published 55 scientific articles in refereed journals, 10 chapters in books, and more than 90 presentations at congresses, symposia and other scientific events. He acts as an ad hoc advisor for national funding instituions (FAPESP, FAPESPA and CNPq) and for 14 international scientific journals. He has been a full advisor to the Postgraduate Program in Animal Reproduction at FMVZ - USP (PPGRA - CAPES grade 6 program) since 2013. He has supervised 2 postdoctoral fellows, 3 doctoral theses, 6 master's dissertations, 12 scientific initiations and 37 interns. He is currently supervising 2 doctoral students, 1 master's student and 1 scientific initiation student, as well as co-supervising 1 doctoral student and 3 master's students. The projects developed in his laboratory are supported by FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, FUNDBIO and companies linked to industrial poultry farming. He is responsible for 2 undergraduate courses (FMVZ - USP) and 3 postgraduate courses (PPGRA-FMVZ-USP), as well as teaching 3 undergraduate courses and 2 postgraduate courses within the same institution, and guest lecturing in courses at other institutions. He has participated as a consultant in National Action Plans for the Conservation of Brazilian Avifauna in the area of ex situ reproduction (Spixii Macaw, Alagoas Curassow, Brazilian Merganser). Administratively, he was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Animal Reproduction at FMVZ/USP (2018-2022), Technical-Administrative Coordinator of the Wild Animal Screening and Rehabilitation Center at FMVZ - USP (2013-2015), Communication Director of the Brazilian Society of Embryo Technology (2012-2013), Member of the Superior Council of the São Paulo Zoological Park Foundation (2015-2021), Member of the Deliberative Council of the USP Science Museum (2012-2015), Member of the FMVZ-USP Congregation (Doctor category), Member of the Postgraduate Program Committee in Animal Reproduction at FMVZ - USP (2015-2016).
