Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by hyperactivity, impulsive behavior and sustained attention deficit. Recent etiological theories implicate changes on reinforcement sensitivity as a core process in ADHD. Spontaneously Hyperactive Rat is a lineage widely used as an animal model of ADHD. Research with SHR had find changes on rei…

Caffeine is, probably, the most widely consumed stimulant in the world. One of its behavioral effects is the development of impulsive behavior; more precisely, impulsive action. Impulsive action, also known as inhibition or motor impulsivity, refers to a dimension of impulsivity phenomenon defined by the incapacity to stop emitting a response or to interrupt a response that already starte…
The search proposes the study about choice behavior by delay discounting paradigm. This paradigm analyze how reinforcement or punishment stimulus delay affects choices between immediate or delayed consequences. Researches show that choices can be classified in different patterns. There are numerous experimental methods which have been used to assess this behavior. Some of these procedures…
Changes in the organism associated with sugar consumption directly impact one's behavior. In the literature, it is possible to find similarities between said changes and those following drug use, including its addictive potential and withdrawal effects. Furthermore, it is possible to observe studies establishing the causes between high-sugar diets and increased impulsivity. In that sense,…
This project is based on a literature that indicates possible harm that the use of social networks may cause, especially in abusive or dependent users. Since a large percentage of the Brazilian population uses various social networks, it is inferred the need to investigate this phenomenon with a focus on the most popular social networks in Brazil, namely Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. W…
The various Latent Inhibition (LI) procedures are widely used to investigate positive symptoms of schizophrenia, especially dysfunctional selective attention processes. Understanding the selective attention deficit as the persistence of the control of a response by irrelevant stimuli. Thus, the repeated presentation of a stimulus without signaling a significant consequence, subsequently, …
