Birthplace: Brazil

bachelor's in Biological Sciences (2002), Master (2005) and Ph.D. (2008) in Plant Biology at State University of Campinas. Currently, Associate Professor at Department of Botany, Institute of Biosciences, University of São Paulo, working in the area of Plant Anatomy, with emphasis on secretory structures and flower development and evolution. These lines of research involve ontogenetic and structural analysis in light microscopy, including polarization, fluorescence and confocal, as well as scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. To better understand the secretory process I also perform histochemical analysis of the exudate, allowing an ecological approach to activity and function of the glands, besides the investigation of the evolutionary strategies that have emerged in different groups of plants. Currently, the study of development and evolution of flowers and inflorescences are also being performed through immunocytochemistry and gene expression analyses. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
