Graduated in biological sciences at University of São Paulo (1993), did his Master and Doctorate in ecology of terrestrial ecosystems on Department of Ecology of the University of São Paulo (1998/2003), with period of internship (sandwich) respectively in Indiana University in the USA and University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Joined the federal public Service in 2004 at the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) as a technician in Geoprocessing and from 2005 as an environmental analyst. He served as head of the IBAMA Remote Sensing Center from 2006 to 2010. He has experience in ecology, with emphasis on remote sensing of vegetation, acting mainly on the following topics: monitoring of the Brazilian vegetal cover, remote sensing, conservation and protection of natural resources, modelling and Geographic Information System. From 2011 he joined the career of specialist in geoprocessing at the National Agency of Water- ANA. In April 2011 was requested by the Brazilian Forestry Service - SFB to coordinate the activities of the National Registry of Public Forests. In 2016 he graduated specialist in Public Management on ENAP (with internship at the University of Maryland). In 2017 the Brazilian Forestry Service started to coordinate the Forest Information Management. Since june 2020 was invited to direct the Directorade of Forest Research and Information, and since 2021 Directorade of Forest Development. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
