During the last 15 years, the São Paulo Research and Analysis Center (SPRACE) has consolidated its participation in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider of CERN. The present project is founded upon the successful history of SPRACE as a high energy physics group that performs physics analysis in Physics Beyond the Standard Model as well as in Heavy Ions, …
Acquisition of extra HDDs to increase the number of spare parts and thus guarantee immediate replacement in case of failures. (AU)
This proposal will develop novel strategies for the exploration of DarkMatter (DM) using synergy of Theoretical High Energy Physics group atSouthampton University (UK) and Experimental High Energy Physics groupat Universities of São Paulo - UNESP and UFABC, and will transform thissynergy into an effective collaboration to study one of the mostadvanced topics in particle physics. The disco…
The search for dark matter is one of the most relevant and challenging topics of the physics research. Up to now, there is only cosmological indirect evidence of the existence of dark matter in the Universe. Evidence from non-cosmological sources would strengthen the case for dark matter, providing independent confirmation of its existence. The Large Hadron Collider experiments are able t…

The strongest evidence in favour of the existence of Dark Matter (DM) is the obser- vation that the dynamics of large, gravitationally bound systems - galaxies and galaxy clusters - seem to be incompatible with their observed matter distribution. Another ev- idence for dark matter is the global fit of the parameters of the standard cosmological model, which implies a physical density of d…
In the framework of the future luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC) the experiments are preparing for the new experimental conditions, expected to be very challenging, with a series of important upgrades. The CMS experiment plans to upgrade a number of its detectors - including its large silicon tracker system and the endcap calorimeters - and to add a new high-precision timing detector…
SPRACE is actively involved in analysis for beyond standard model physics searches at the CMS collaboration. Within the "Exotica" analysis group, we are looking for signatures of a heavy resonance decaying in two bosons. This signature is present in alternative scenarios to the electroweak symmetry breaking sector, among others theoretical interesting scenarios.

The existence of physics beyond the standard model (BSM) has been hinted from neighbouring fields, like cosmology, for quite some time. Observing evidences of these new phenomena in collider experiments, or imposing limits on new theories in their absence, is one of the main challenges of contemporary high energy physics. One possible BSM scenario is that of the realization of dark matter…
The fundamental structure of matter is the field of study of Particle Physics. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a particle collider located at the site of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), on the French-Swiss border. Conceived and built during the 90's and 2000's, the LHC is designed to provide proton-proton, proton-ion and ion-ion collisions with unprecedented cen…
