Developed post doctoral resrarch in microbial ecology of methane in the Antarctic marine environment at the University of São Paulo. Was project manager in South America for the Census of Antarctic Marine Life (CAML), a project integrated to the Census of Marine Life (CoML) and the International Polar Year. Worked as supervisor at CC Technologies, doing environmental monitoring services to Petrobras. Research expertise in Environmental Microbiology, in the areas of Microbial Ecology and Diversity, methane cycle, methanogenic archaea and methanotrophic bacteria, and aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation of xenobiotic compounds.
