Marko Ackermann

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of São Paulo (2000), obtained his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of São Paulo (2002) and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stuttgart (2007), Germany. Was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA (2007-2009), and in the Optimization, Robotics and Biomechanics group (ORB) at the Intitute of Computer Engineering at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Germany (2022-2024). From 2010 to 2022, was a professor and researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineeiring and in the Graduate Program on Mechanical Engineering at FEI University, Brazil. From 2017 to 2022, was the head of the mechanical engineering department at FEI. Since October of 2023, is a senior researcher in the BioRobotics Lab of the Institute of Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany. His research focuses mainly on biomechanical modeling and predictive simulation of human movement, and development of assistive technology for improving human mobility. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
