Maiara Lima Castilho

Biomedical Engineer from the University of Vale do Paraíba (2012) and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Vale do Paraíba (2017) with a sandwich period at Dalhousie University, Canada. She is currently a professor/researcher at the University of Vale do Paraíba and coordinator of the Bionanotechnology Laboratory located at the Research and Development Institute of this institution. Experience in nanotechnology, FT-IR, microbiology and cell biology, working on the following topics: nanopharmaceuticals, nanoprobes, theranostic nanoparticles, antimicrobials, photodynamic therapy, cell culture, cancer, resistant microorganisms, chemical modification of molecules and surface functionalization of nanostructures with proteins, DNA, antibiotics and photosensitizers.
