Luiz Carlos Hespanhol Junior

I am a Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy (FOFITO), Faculty of Medicine (FMUSP), University of Sao Paulo (USP). I lead the Epidemiology and Implementation Science Research Group (Scimple) and I am a collaborator in the Amsterdam Collaboration on Health and Safety in Sports (ACHSS) and in the Department of Public and Occupational Health (DPOH), Amsterdam Universities Medical Centers, location VU University Medical Center Amsterdam (VUmc), Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I am Epidemiologist B (Clinical-Scientific Epidemiology Researcher) recognised by the The Netherlands Epidemiology Society (VvE) upon certification of completion of Post-doctoral research and registration by the National Committee for Medical-Biological Research Training in the Netherlands (SMBWO). I got training on 'Dissemination and Implementation Science' by the Implementation Science Research Training School promoted by the Global Alliance of Chronic Diseases (GACD) and funded by the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). I got my PhD at VUmc with a Brazilian scholarship from the 'Doctoral Full Abroad Program' (DPE) funded by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), process: DOC-PLENO 99999.000763/2012-08. I got my Academic Master's degree in Physiotherapy at UNICID. My background is in physiotherapy and data science. I previously worked in a Brazilian elite track and field team (national and Olympic level) as a sports physiotherapist. I also worked in private clinics treating patients with musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries in São Paulo, Brazil.
