Graduation at Medical School from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität (2010) and medical doctorate in pediatric immunology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2011). Lena F Schimke has experience in Immunology, Rheumatology and infectious diseases focusing on Immunogenetics, inborn errors of immunity and susceptibility to infectious diseases, as well as autoantibodies in relation to viral infections and classic autoimmune diseases. Currently, Lena is developing her research at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil in the area of integrative systems biology of immune dysregulation syndromes including COVID-19. She has gained experience in high-throughput data analysis and systems biology. Throughout her academic scientific career she received several research grants from the European Society for Immunodeficiency (ESID, 2010-2011), the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Sao Paulo (FAPESP 2011-2015), the University of Luebeck (2018), Germany, and the Latin American Society for Immunodeficiency (LASID, 2020-2022) to develop her research projects.
