Works on the following six major lines of Palynology: Aeropalynology, Archaeopalynology, Melissopalynology, Palynotaxonomy, Pollen physiology and Quarternary Palynology. Collaborate researcher at University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria, Royal Botanic Gardens (KEW) and Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco (Portugal), as well as in Brazilian institutions (Adolfo Lutz Institute, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Federal University of Viçosa, Federal University of Santa Catarina, Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri, São Paulo University, State University of the Midwest of Paraná, State University of Londrina, Ezequiel Dias Fundation FUNED) and with the FuturaGene and AgBiTech companies. Associate editor (palynology area) of the scientific journal Hoehnea and reviewer of several (inter)national scientific journals. Ad-Hoc Consultant for the issuance of technical-scientific opinion in the area of Quality and Technology of Products of Plant Origin under the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Curator of the IPA Palinotheque. Research Productivity Scholarship by CNPq and leader of the CNPq Research Group "Palynology of bee products".
