I completed my masters degree in Biology in 2005 at the Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) and following made my PhD in 2011at the same university executing all laboratory work at the Max-Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine in Berlin (Germany). After some experiences as Post-Doc at the UFMG in Belo Horizonte, the UNIFESP in São Paulo and the UFPeL in Pelotas I am currently continuing my research as visiting professor at the FURG in Rio Grande. Today my work focusses in general on nutrient metabolism with special interest in physiologic alterations and genetic background of metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and their co-morbidities.
