Dr. Carneiro received the undergraduate degree in information systems from Goiano Federal Institute, Urutaí, Brazil, the M.Sc. degree in computer science from the Federal University of Uberlândia, Uberlândia, Brazil, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil, in 2008, 2012 and 2016, respectively. He joined the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Brazil in 2014, where he is currently an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Computing. He was also an Academic Visitor at Department of Computer Science, University of Surrey-UK (2015-2016). He participated directly in many projects funded by Brazilian organizations, such as CNPq, CAPES and FAPESP. His previous experiences include works on machine learning and data mining, complex networks and bio-inspired computing and his main interests are related to the following topics: learning via complex networks, network structural optimization, data classification, dimension reduction and cellular automata.
