Professor at the Graduate Program in Informatics (PPGIa) and the Graduate Program in Smart Cities (PPGCIS) at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR), Brazil. Previously served as a Research Fellow at the University of New Mexico (UNM), USA. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences (ICMC-USP), with a research period at the University of Porto, Portugal. He earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the State University of Maringá (UEM). Member of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). His research interests include Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Machine Learning, Data Streams, Concept Drift, Time Series Mining, and applications involving temporal sensor data.
