Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Food Engineering at University of São Paulo (2006) and PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Food Technology (Sciences des Procédés - Sciences des Aliments) from Montpellier SupAgro (France). Postdoctoral fellowship at Embrapa Instrumentação, focusing on the development and application of chitosan nanoparticles, and at the Department of Chemistry at FFCLRP-USP, working on the production of cellulose nanofibers through acid and enzymatic hydrolysis from lignocellulosic biomass (soybean straw). Associate Professor in the Department of Food Engineering at FZEA/USP, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry at FFCLRP/USP. Research topics include: production and characterization of nano/micropolymeric particles (nanocellulose and TPP-chitosomes) for the encapsulation of active compounds for use in the food or pharmaceutical industry; production of nanocellulose as reinforcement for biodegradable films; and production and characterization of fruit pulp films with the addition of nanostructures in collaboration with Embrapa Instrumentação (National Laboratory of Nanotechnology Applied to Agribusiness). Currently, work as coordinator in the Graduate Program of Materials Engineering and Science, in the Double Degree Program between FZEA/USP and AgroParisTech (France), and as vice-coordinator of the Double Degree Program between FZEA/USP and Institut Agro de Montpellier (France).
