Birthplace: Brazil

Associated Professor at Institute of Science and Technology of Federal Universitu of São Paulo - ICT-UNIFESP, Campus, São José dos Campos , where I supervise research in Intelligent Methods for Medical Diagnosis Assistance, exploring deep learning, artificial intelligence, and signal and image processing.Specialist in Medical Image Processing, Biological Signals, and Artificial Intelligence applied to healthcare. I hold a degree as an Electronics Technician (ETE "FMC"), and as an Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on Electronics and Telecommunications (Inatel), with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering (Inatel). I also have a Masters and PhD in Electrical Engineering, focused on Biological Signal and Medical Image Processing from EP/USP, where I also completed my Post-Doctorate in the same area. Additionally, I have interests in Clinical Engineering and Innovative Entrepreneurship, aiming at developing advanced technological solutions and the creation of innovative startups.I coordinate the Laboratory for Research in Biomedical Image and Signal Processing (LAPIS), a space I conceptualized and implemented at ICT-Unifesp. In this laboratory, I have mentored dozens of undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students, who continue working in fields directly related to their research. With both national and international collaborations, my research philosophy is based on two fronts: the clinical and the computational. On the clinical side, I collaborate with institutions such as Hospital São Paulo, FMUSP, FOP-Unicamp, and InCor-USP, contributing to data collection and the development of joint studies. On the computational side, my focus is on investigating and implementing the most advanced artificial intelligence techniques, together with my students and collaborators.
