She holds a Master degree in Biology (Zoology) from the University of Ghent (Belgium, 2006), a Master degree in Applied Statistics from the University of Hasselt (Belgium, 2007) and a PhD in Biology from the University of Ghent (2011). She works at the University of São Paulo as a postdoctoral fellow, but currently she is a visiting researcher at Imperial College London.
