Prof. Menezes graduated in Medicine at Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (1981), has a Master degree in Psychiatry and Psychological Medicine from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (1993), a MSc In Epidemiology from University of London (1992), a Phd In Psychiatry from the University of London (1995) and a habilitation from Universidade de Sao Paulo (2002). He is Professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine, Faculdade de Medicina, and coordinator of the Centre for Research on Population Mental Health of Universidade de São Paulo. He coordinated the Disease Control Coordination of the Sao Paulo State Health Secretariat from February 2019 to October 2020. He has experience in Public Health, focusing on Psychiatric Epidemiology and Global Mental Health, acting on the following subjects: psychoses, mental health in old age, common mental disorders in Primary Care.
