Sérgio Robles Reis de Queiroz, born 1956, is a Full Professor at the Science and Technology Policy Department, Geosciences Institute, University of Campinas, Brazil. He is also Coordinator for Research and Innovation at FAPESP, the São Paulo Research Foundation. He received an engineering degree in 1978 and a BA Philosophy in 1983 from the University of São Paulo, and his M.Sc. (1987) and his D. Phil in Economics (1993) from the University of Campinas. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at SPRU Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex, England, in 2000. His research interests are: learning processes, development of technological capabilities, mainly in the pharmaceutical and the automotive industries, the globalization of technology, Foreign Direct Investment in R&D, university-industry partnerships and knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship.
