Graduated in Physical Education at University of Campinas - UNICAMP (1998), MSc and PhD in Medical Sciences (2001-2006) and Post-Doctorate (2006-2009) at UNICAMP. She has experience in Biochemistry and Metabolism, studing on mitochondrial metabolism and oxidative stress in pathologies such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and obesity. She also investigates protective mechanisms induced by physical exercise. She is Professor since 2009 at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto - USP (FCFRP-USP) and is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Biomolecular Sciences. She teaches Biochemistry classes for Pharmacy Undergraduate course, supervises Postgraduate students and teaches classes by the Biochemistry Post-graduate Course at Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP).
