Graduated in Pharmacy from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a Master's Degree in Immunology from USP and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP). Completed postdoctoral studies at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in Molecular Biology of Toxins. Researcher at the Butantan Institute, she works in the field of Toxinology, focusing on the structure and function of venom metalloproteinases. Collaborates with international groups and groups from the Amazon region addressing ecological, evolutionary aspects of snakes and envenomation and treatment of human envenomings.
