Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine from the State University of São Paulo Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 1986), specialization in Primatology from the University of Brasília (1987), master's degree in Genetics and Animal Improvement (1992) and doctorate in Biological Sciences (Genetics) (1998) both from UNESP. Member of the Deer Specialist Group / IUCN, Executive Coordinator of the Conservation Action Plan of Ungulates of ICMBio, leader of the research group (CNPq) in Biology and Conservation of Brazilian Cervids, coordinator of the Deer Research and Conservation Center (NUPECCE) of the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) of UNESP Jaboticabal, assistant professor of the Department of Animal Science of FCAV/UNESP. Former president (1996-1998) and scientific director (1998-2000, 2002-2004) of the Brazilian Association of Wildlife Veterinarians (ABRAVAS). He has interested in the areas of Genetics, Reproduction, Sanity and Ecology of deer, as well as captive management of Wild Animals. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
