Bachelor of Chemistry from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1986), Master's in Physical Chemistry - Araraquara from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1989), and sandwich Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos - University of Limoges, France (1995). Served as an Assistant Professor (ATER) at ENSCI in Limoges, France, during the academic year 1994-1995. Joined as a faculty member in 1997 at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Polytechnic School, University of São Paulo, currently holding the position of Full Professor. Invited Professor at the University of Lille, University of Grenoble, and the European Master's program "Erasmus Mundus". Senior Visiting Scholar during 2011-2012 at the University of California, Davis, under the supervision of Prof. Alexandra Navrotsky. Author of 126 scientific papers in indexed journals, having supervised 26 undergraduate research fellows, 24 master's students, 14 doctoral candidates, and 7 Post-Doctoral researchers. Head of Department, Vice-President of the Deliberative Council of the Ceramic Center of Brazil - CCB (2018-2022, and reappointed 2022-2026). Associate Editor of the International Journal of Ceramic Engineering and Science - American Ceramic Society. Co-author in scientific work with Sir James Fraser Stoddart - Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2016. Coordinator of the Ceramic Processes Laboratory, focusing on the physico-chemical aspects of ceramic powder interfaces, with research interests including ceramic dispersions and shaping, synthesis of nanometric ceramic materials, sintering, size stability, phase transitions in nanometric oxides, and photocatalysis.
