José Humberto Dias da Silva is presently Associate Professor III in São Paulo State University (UNESP), Bauru City Campus. Holds the BA (1984), Master(1987), and Doctor (1994) degrees in physics from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Teaches physics and materials sciences in undergraduate (since 1990) and graduate levels (since 2004) respectively. Has created and coordinated the Semiconductor Thin Film Laboratory in the UNESP University since 1997. Actively participated in the commission for creation of the Graduate School on Materials Science and Technology of UNESP (2004). Has experience in physics and materials sciences, with focus on the growth, structural and optical properties of semiconducting films and nanostructures. Has oriented ten master and four doctorate students. Coordinated nine research projects from official funding agencies, and published more than sixty scientific papers on international journals. Contribute as a revisor of Thin Solid Films, Journal of Applied Physics, Materials Science and Engeeering B, Nanoscale Research Letters, and other periodics. From 2016 leads the Advanced Materials Group of Unesp University (MAv-Unesp/CNPq).
