Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Nursing from the University of São Paulo (1988), Master in Physiology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (1990), Ph.D. in Physiology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (1997), complemented by an internship at the University of Montreal (Canada ), in the Cellular and Molecular Biology laboratory, provided by the sandwich program-CAPES (1994-1995). Postdoctoral internships at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary - Canada (2004 to 2005). Currently, since 2018, he has been a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo - Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing. He is responsible for the Physiology of Systemic Inflammation laboratory at EERP/USP. The laboratory employs contemporary methodologies analyzing the action of different proteins and peptides in the modulation of the inflammatory process. It is accredited in the Graduate Program in Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto and in the Fundamental Nursing Program, both grade 7.0 Capes. It carries out national collaborations (Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Institute of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Minas Gerais) and international collaborations (Center for Perioperative Organ Protection of the Department of Anesthesiology, Duke University Medical Center) developing projects that assess the action of system mediators renin-angiotensin in the modulation of the inflammatory reflex.
