Undergraduate studies in Physics at the Universidade de São Paulo (1991), master in engineering at Universidade de São Paulo (1994) and Ph.D. at Natural Sciences from Universität Dortmund (1998). Has experience in Material and Metallurgical Engineering, focusing on Phase Transformationsand Mechanical Bahavior of Materiais, acting on the following subjects: computational thermodynamics, intermetallics, cluster variation method, phase diagrams and configurational order, fracture and plastic deformation of engineering materials. Recently coordinated the group which suggested the creation of the Nuclear Engineering course and consequently dedicated his efforst in investigating issues of interest in this industry, in particular which the investigation of advanced nuclear fuels.
