Graduated from UFRuRJ in 1988, completed his master's degree (1994) and his doctorate (1997) in Veterinary Medicine (Animal Reproduction) from VRA-FMVZ-University of São Paulo. He held a sabbatical at the Technical University of Munich, TUM (2010-2011) and at the University of Wisconsin (1998-1999) in 2004 and was approved in a Free Teaching competition at UNESP-Araçatuba. He is Associate Professor at Paulista State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho where he joined in 1991. He has published 81 articles in specialized journals and 172 papers in event annals. It has 7 chapters of published books. Participated in 25 events abroad and 50 in Brazil. He has supervised 4 postdocs, 9 doctoral theses and 13 master dissertations, and has supervised 36 undergraduate students in the areas of Veterinary Medicine and Physiology. Received 14 awards and / or honors, was Coordinator of the Council of Undergraduate Course in Veterinary Medicine 2004-2008. He currently coordinates 5 research projects and is responsible for the Animal Endocrinology Laboratory which quantifies protein hormones (LH, FSH, GH, Leptin, Prolactin, IGF-I, Insulin) in plasma from domestic animals. Conducts research with emphasis on Reproduction Physiology with a focus on puberty of Nellore heifers. He was 1st SBTE Treasurer for 4 years. Organized the X International Reproduction Symposium held in 2018 in Foz do Iguaçu-PR. Is located in Arex as Assitant Provost for International Affairs.
