General Coordinator of the National Policy for Cancer Prevention and Control at the Secretariat of Specialized Health Care (SAES) of the Ministry of Health. Full Professor of Clinical Oncology in the Department of Radiology and Oncology at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). A certified clinical oncologist by the Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology (SBOC), he graduated in Medicine from the University of Pernambuco in 1994 and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at UNICAMP. Between 1998 and 2002, he earned his doctorate, also at UNICAMP. From 2012 to 2014, he served as a visiting professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
