Bachelor in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (1990), Master in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (1992) and PhD from State University of Campinas (1997). Post-doctorate at the School of Chemical Engineering, UNICAMP,and visiting professor at the Centre for Surface Chemistry and Catalysis, University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven), Belgium.. Currently, he is associate professor at the Federal University of ABC and master's and doctoral advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Science and Technology / Chemistry of UFABC. He was Vice-Rector from 2018 to 2022 and is currently Dean of Research at UFABC. He has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on catalysis and adsorption processes, with research activity in the following themes: hydrogenation and oxidation catalytic reactions, polyols and lignin conversion, environmental control, wastewater treatment, molecular sieves, natural zeolites, clays, niobia and activated carbons.
