She was a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, Dept Earth and Ocean Sciences (Canada) from 2008-2009. Graduated in Biological Sciences (UFSCar); Master in Ecology and Natural Resources (1990) from UFSCar and Dalhousie University, Oceaography Dept (Canada - WUSC scholarship). PhD in Chemistry (1995) from UNICAMP and Istituto di Biofisica (Italy - CNPq scholarship holder). Specialization at The University of Leeds (England, 1990-1991). Post-doctoral at the Phycology Laboratory (UFSCar) and Young Researcher (FAPESP) at the Biohydrometallurgy Laboratory, UNESP (Araraquara, SP). Areas of activity: Microalgae Ecophysiology and Environmental Chemistry, under the themes: ecotoxicology; prospecting microalgae for biomolecules, photosynthesis and CO2 fixation; use of industrial effluents for microalgae cultivation; algal cultures on small and large scales (1000L); speciation of metals in natural and artificial systems. Reviewer of articles for national and international scientific journals and research agencies; supervises masters and PhDs at UFSCar PPGERN and PPGBIOTEC. Member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of Botany. CNPq research group leader: Ecophysiology and production in microalgae.
