Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with Technology assignments at Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 1995), master's degree in Chemistry from UNESP (1998), Ph.d. in Chemistry from UNESP (2002) concluded in 2004, and post-doctorate at the Institute of Chemistry from UNESP-Araraquara-SP, still completed a post-doc in 2011, at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography-UCSD, San Diego-CA, USA under the supervision of Dr. William H. Gerwick. Currently is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto (FCFRP-USP). Has experience in the field of chemistry of natural products, with emphasis on chemical, biological and biosynthetic studies of plant from Piper species (Piperaceae), red algae Rhodomelaceae family including its marine microorganisms associated, besides to apply different approaches in marine cyanobacteria. Nowadays has been studying marine organisms from Antartic, such as algae from and its associated microorganisms, besides microorganisms associated to invertebrates, from sediments besides from fumarole Antarctic water.
