Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Rio Claro Campus (1995), a Masters degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the same institution (1998), and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from UNESP, Rio Claro Campus (2002). I served as Assistant Professor at UNESP, Litoral Paulista Campus, São Vicente, from 2004 to 2010.I am currently an Associate Professor of Cell Biology at São Paulo State University, Jaboticabal Campus, and a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity at UNESP Rio Claro. In addition, I coordinate the Invertebrate Morphology Laboratory (IML) and am responsible for managing the Electron Microscopy Laboratory at UNESP, FCAV Jaboticabal.I have extensive experience in Zoology, with emphasis on Internal Anatomy and Functional Morphology of Invertebrates, particularly within Crustacea and Insecta. My scientific career is characterized by an integrated approach to the study of reproductive biology, histology, ultrastructure, and comparative morphology of reproductive systems. My main research lines focus on the reproductive biology of Neotropical decapods, with special attention to the morphological evolution of male and female reproductive systems and sperm ultrastructure. My studies aim to understand the evolutionary, phylogenetic, and functional patterns associated with reproductive diversification in decapod crustaceans, integrating morphological, ultrastructural, and molecular data within a comparative framework. Through this approach, I seek to reconstruct the evolutionary history of reproductive characters and contribute to the understanding of biodiversity, systematics, and evolution of aquatic invertebrates in both Neotropical and global contexts.
