Holds degrees in physics and engineering having built his expertise and experience in biomedical engineering, with emphasis in medical image processing and biomedical signal processing. During his career, has been conducting research on the following topics: segmentation and registration of images, image-guided treatment and surgery, nonlinear signal processing and analysis, regarding its applications in medicine and biology.
