Is an Associate Professor at Veterinary Medicine at University of Sao Paulo. He received its DVM (1999), Master of Science (2001) and Doctor of Philosophy (2004) from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is an epidemiologist and works with invasive species control and eradication, as well as models of disease maintenance and spread among wild species. Has been working as a consultant of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply as well as the Ministry of Environment. Thus far, most its scientific production are related to Epidemiology, population ecology, and conservation medicine. Is currently member of the National Commission of Wild Animals of the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine, representative of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the Superior Council of the São Paulo Zoo Foundation and focal point of the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine at the Wildlife Disease Notification Network at the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (DSA/SDA/MAPA). Has been working with control and eradication of invasive species in Brazilian oceanic islands, such as the archipelagos of Trindade and Martim Vaz and Fernando de Noronha, in association with the Brazilian Navy, Ministry of Environment, and WWF. Moreover, has been working with movement ecology of dogs in canid guilds in Brazilian Cerrado and haematophagous bats, aiming at providing scientific basis to the official control. Recently, is working with ecology of urban bats, conflicts and One Health (including ecosurveillance of SARS-CoV-2). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
