Birthplace: Cuba

Graduate degree in Chemistry at the Chemistry School de La Universidad de la Habana, Cuba (1987) and PhD in Chemistry of University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (2002) with CAPES Scholarship of doctorate. One year (2003-2004) of post-doctorate studies at the University of São Paulo (USP) supported by a FAPESP scholarship. International experience in Spain and France (CSIC-Madrid and CNRS-Paris-Sud respectively). Since July 2004 is Assistant Professor Dr (MS-3 II) at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Presidente Prudente, Sao Paulo. He has experience in organic chemistry, focusing on organic synthesis, working on the following themes: selective capture, activation and conversion of carbon dioxide; Catalysis; Micro-wave assistance of chemical reactions; Modeling and synthesis of molecules with pharmacological activity; Chemical transformation of biodiesel by insertion of CO2; Recycling of chemical by-products of sugar cane and ethanol industries, synthesis of diazo-dyes molecules, synthesis and study of poly (azo) Urethanes and poly (azo) carbonates from CO2 and other materials; Study of different inorganic and organic materials as carbon dioxide sensors; Theoretical and Experimental Study of mechanisms of organic reactions; Design and synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with Antichagasic activity; Theoretical and Experimental study of enzyme-mimetic systems for carbonic anhydrase and Transcarboxylase capture and activation of the CO2 molecule by nitrogenous Bases; Chemical transformations of Biopolymers (Chitin-chitosan) for the preparation of biodegradable organic materials with application in the capture of CO2; Study of the fungicide interaction lipids using spin markers and EPR spectroscopy; Modeling and synthesis of enzymatic inhibitors and ionic channels as potential therapeutic agents in the treatment of various ion-channel disfunction (derivatives of N-alkyl-sulfonamides as inhibitors of voltage-dependent ionic channels); design, synthesis and pharmacological characterization of novel guanidines with potential Antichagasic and Leishmanicidal activity. Design and synthesis of dopamine reuptake inhibitors as new and atypical cognitive capacity enhancers. Planning and synthesis of new dopaminergic receptor inhibitors D1-D5. For treatment of Parkinson disease. Coordinator of the Chemistry course of FCT-Unesp de Presidente prudent (2015-2017); Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Vienna, Austria with FAPESP's research Scholarship Abroad (2017-2018); Master and PhD advisor in the graduate program in materials science and Technology POSMAT (UNESP-Bauru) and the Pharmaceutical Sciences Program of the Pharmacy School of UNESP of Araraquara -São Paulo. Review Editor of the Frontiers (Switzerland) Carbon dioxide utilization and storage-Journal; Field Editor (Synthesis) of Amino acids Journal Springer (Nature Group). Recently a 500 MHz NMR apparatus was provided in the LQOF Lab to study of organic and hybrids molecules. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
