Full Professor at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP/USP). Participated in a Pre-Scientific Initiation program at the University of Brasília during high school (1991-1993) and graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Brasília (1994-1997). Obtained a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology from the Paulista School of Medicine/Federal University of São Paulo (1998-2003), completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Microbial Pathogenicity at Yale University, USA (2003-2006), and earned the title of Associate Professor from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School/University of São Paulo (2011). Full member of the São Paulo State Academy of Sciences (ACIESP) and the Latin American Academy of Sciences (ACAL). CNPq Research Productivity Fellow, level 1B. Works in the fields of Immunology, Microbiology, Parasitology, and Cell Biology, with an emphasis on pathogen-host cell interaction and aspects of microbial pathogenicity and innate immunity. Published relevant articles that have significantly impacted the advancement of science. Mentored 21 master's students, 19 Ph.D. students, and dozens of undergraduate research students. Delivered over 180 scientific lectures, of which at least 40 were given abroad. Contributes significantly to the Brazilian scientific and educational system, collaborating with universities, scientific societies, and FAPESP, where a member of the scientific board since 2016, currently serving as the manager of the Biomedical Sciences area.
