Graduated in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo, Masters? degree and PhD in Sciences (Human Physiology), postdoctoral from the University of São Paulo, with additional training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and University of Florida. Associate Professor in exclusive dedication regime at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and PI of funding provided by FAPESP (Young Researcher Project, Regular Grant) and CNPq (Edital Universal). Elected by undergraduate students one of the top 25 (<5%) professors at UFABC, not ranked in this selection. Scientific editor of international journals, including Scientific Reports (https://www.nature.com/srep/about/editorial-board), PLOS ONE and Neural Plasticity (FI: 3,582). Ad hoc referee in international journals and funding agencies such as National Science Foundation (NSF), European Research Council (ERC), CNPq and FAPESP. He currently supervises the research of 4 postdoctoral research fellows, having trained 6 doctors and 10 master students. Founder and coordinator of the Neuroscience and Cognition Postgraduate Program (UFABC), between 2009 and 2013. He was Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies (2014-2016) and Dean of Postgraduate Studies (2016-2018) of UFABC.
