Bachelors degree in Fundamental Chemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1999), and Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (2001 and 2005, respectively). Sandwich Ph.D. internship at the Università degli Studi di Pavia, Italy (2004), and postdoctoral fellowship in Physical Chemistry at the Laboratory of Electroactive Materials, IQ/USP (20052006), including a research stay at the Institut des Matériaux Jean Rouxel, France. Visiting Researcher at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, on two occasions: in 2014, supported by FAPESP, and from 2023 to 2024, supported by CAPES-PrInt. Full Professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), CNPq Research Productivity Fellow, and coordinator of a FAPESP/NWO Thematic Project in the area of point-of-care technologies based on microneedles. Participant in the Horizon 2020 PEPSA-MATE international scientific cooperation network, concluded in 2025, focused on the development of functional and sustainable materials based on peptides and monosaccharides. Research interests focused on supramolecular interactions of biopolymers, interfaces and molecular devices, biosensors, and functional nanocomposites. Supervisor of 16 Masters dissertations and 26 Ph.D. theses, with 130 articles indexed in international journals and 4 filed patents, two of which licensed to STC Silicone Técnico Composto Ltda. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Nanosciences and Advanced Materials (PPG-NMA/UFABC) from 2022 to 2024, and currently serving a new term as Program Coordinator for the 20262028 period.
